One Month Anniversary Tokens

The one-eyed. 81: judicial confession.

"The judge has summoned to give sworn judicial confession indecisorio .- I snapped Lucia, the lawyer who brings me all the affairs of the late Frederick.
- Quee? "At first I was startled. I had so many things on my mind lately that I did not know what I was talking about.
"Easy, is not important, it's about challenging the will, a mere formality. And made me aware of recent incidents of this procedure. The daughters of Don Fede, instigated by his lawyer, Carmen, had challenged the will of her father named me as trustee and thus prevented them from disposing of assets of the estate, who would become my domain when they died. His arguments were somewhat pilgrims and all I had been disturbed. Vaguely hinted in Don Fede was not in full possession of his faculties when they appointed me, even drunk. Alluded to this last will had been written shortly before his death, when his health was delicate. And especially loaded inks in my condition altogether unknown to the family, adorned with all sorts of speculation about threats or pressures that I have had on the deceased to make him change his will. But nothing I said was not the slightest supporting evidence. For starters, they overlooked a fundamental fact, namely that the notary had authorized the will, which would never do to have hosted the slightest doubt about his sanity. Would you were calling stupid? Furthermore, it was the notary who normally logs all documents and writings of Don Fede, then he knew well. The demand was in fact, as I said Lucy and I thought so-reckless, a desperate gamble, and a blatant manipulation by the opposing counsel to raise false hopes of their clients and collect lucrative fees pass. Tried to call to testify to the notary, but the judge asked prior medical or psychiatric reports to justify its request. As they had none, the judge rejected that evidence. So, all that remained was to call me to testify, to see if I of pure stupidity recognized some of his wild claims. And the judge will admit the evidence because they did have this right.

"But do not worry. "He added .- It's not going to be good for nothing. Simply limit yourself to deny what you raised. They have the right to call you, and you have the right to simply answer no to everything.
"Well if you are not good for nothing, why accept the judge?
"To cover himself with a future appeal. The audience does not want to send you a retrial for having improperly denied a test.
"So, to save face.
"Exactly. And do not forget you're in a civil, not criminal, so quiet. "Actually I was quiet, my questions were mostly to confirm what I imagined, and also to assess the degree of knowledge of my lawyer.
- indecisorio And swearing?
-May your answers will only be considered as proof in what will harm you.
"Ah, it seems very fair.

The court was in the Plaza de Castilla, in a new building adjacent to the criminal courts. In the access control I went through the metal detector, found nothing in anticipation because I had left my usual knife in the glove compartment. I had dressed for the event with a new suit and shiny tie, wanted to impress on home judicial. Rosa could not accompany me, because I had to take their classes, but had insisted that he did Moon. I declined because the appearance was too matonil Moon, and would not give the impression of mafia. So we were just my lawyer and me.

On the other hand, however, besides the feisty lawyer were the two daughters of Don Fede, Joseph and Esther, and I figured he was husband of the latter. Josefina had turned to color the hair, going from light brown now, and just as elegant as ever, with skirt and jacket suit. Her husband was not seen anywhere, was the smartest of us all and did not want to waste time. Ester was wearing jeans, but had changed his shirt for an elegant silk blouse, and jacket and a jacket with shoulder pads, I guess I also wanted to impress the judge. The husband of Esther, go preppy look of haggard and rundown. With little hair slicked back, pants clips, polo and American. The tanned complexion of the beach, the sea breeze, or perhaps skiing. He looked to have led a good life. I confess that crossed our eyes and I missed a grin, which made him frown. Upon entering the room and passed him I whispered through clenched teeth.
"Be careful what you say you're going to ruin their lives. "Oysters, I was surprised by his audacity. I stopped abruptly and looked up and down. I was hesitating a few seconds if you answer there or do it later. Lucia then pulled my arm and led me before the judge. I did follow the truth, when I'm not prefer my media to behave. And anyway, and would have time to have fun. The judge spoke.

"Gentlemen, we are hosting this event at a public hearing at the specific request of the attorney for the plaintiff. I think
Lucia had fallen short in keeping up appearances. The judge did not even hide his irritation. Hit the deck and gave us a look of disgust. Typically, this simple procedure is done in the secretariat, and carried out by a single court official, and not by the judge in person and with all the solemnity. Then the fun began.

"Say it is true that you knew about the poor health of Don Federico.
"I'm not a doctor. What do you mean?
-Be more specific, Mrs. Legal. -Third by the judge.
- Did you know that he had suffered several heart attacks?
- Other, how? I thought it had to be concrete.
-limit to be imposed contestar. He tried to counsel, with pride.
-Negative.
- What do you not, refuse to answer?
"That my answer to your question is no, please give more Attention.-red with anger Counsel. There were murmurs in the public benches, a male voice, so could only be the husband of Esther.
"Hey, hey you, here I do I counterclaims. "Again the judge spoke.
"Yes, Your Honor.
- He knew that Don Federico abusing alcohol?
- What is abuse, do you call abuse?
"Your Honor, is trying to evade the answer .- The abogadita complained.
"Let's see, lady lawyer, I do not want this to become a circus. From now on the questions I am going to do. "Absolute silence in the room .- Is drunk front of you?
"No, sir.
- drugs used drugs in front of you?
"No, Your Honor, Mr. Federico was a person with healthy habits.
- Have you ever saw him upset?
"Never, sir.
- Or outside its normal state?
"Always in a good mood and your mind clear.
- What was the nature of your relationship with him? Initially
-business, then friendship.
- What kind of business?
"I was supplying computer products, and sometimes acted as a subcontractor on construction projects and real estate.
- Have you communicated his intention to appoint trustee in the testament?
"Of course, sir. Thereupon
, knew of his failing health.
"Yes, Your Honor, but the lyrics talk about several heart attacks, and I only knew of one.
- What reason given for wanting to appoint a trustee?
"Your Honor, if I may explain, Don Federico did not want her two sons could dispose of the assets of the estate, because as I said are two gulfs that have never worked and like to live the easy life.
- You're a liar, you bastard! -Broke the husband of Esther.
- Silence! "I cut the judge .- Do not let insults in my room. We impose a fine of twenty thousand pesetas. Quit now. Official, capture the data. The act is over. Clear the room. Lady legal, approach. "And then there was, quietly, but there was, because we had all fallen silent .- Lady counsel, you have ridden it and has gotten out of hand ...

I was crossing the threshold of the room when the husband Esther, who was outside waiting, I rushed and I could not hear the rest of the reprimand. I shook my fist I tried to dodge, but I could not quite, touched my nose and I took the opportunity to let me fall. It bent my knees and I fell sideways like a doll. The rest is somewhat confusing because I had my eyes closed and others got all hysterical. I know I heard several cries of "relief, an ambulance" and was the voice of my lawyer. She later told me that between the judge, the officer and the clerk managed to reduce the madman. Quickly rose several policemen and security guards who were in the access control and handcuffed him.

-Take him to police custody for assault, contempt and resisting arrest. You pass forty-eight hours in jail, until he fumes down and then take him to court on duty.
-A order, sir.
-Secretary, stating in the record all that has happened and gives a copy to the police to provide evidence.
"Yes, Your Honor.

My nose was bleeding profusely. I knew it was nothing, I have a tendency to bleed from the nose, perhaps by a simple sneeze triggers bleeding. If not for my high blood pressure, or because my nasal hair is fragile. The night before, without going any further, I bled a little. But the blood is very showy and spectacular, my new suit was completely ruined, completely red white shirt and tried to ground the falling drops and more drops, forming a trail. Lucia, leaning towards me, was the bleeding with his handkerchief. And here came the emergency physician and nurses. I pretended to wake up from fainting. I did inhale something, I clogged the nostrils and took me to hospital to have tests done timely. I left the courthouse on my own feet, somewhat insecure, escorted by nurses, with my new clothes soaked with blood, under the anxious eyes of Esther, and laughing in the show, and it would fall to fool unhappy with her husband.
