Can I Get High Off Of Benzonata

Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath is a heavy metal band formed in 1968 in Birmingham, England, raised as the first band to separate the Heavy Rock, pioneers of genres like heavy metal, Doom Metal and Stoner Metal. Its original members were Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. It is considered one of the most influential bands in rock history.

The large legacy he left Black Sabbath to the break at the end of the decade of 70, has not gone unnoticed. So much so that the likes of Motorhead, Judas Priest, Pantera, Megadeth, Soundgarden, Slayer and Metallica, mainly discussed taking the heavy dark, oppressive, hard, and that clearly, and separate from their contemporaries. His compositions atmospheric environment sinister and demonic, apocalyptic ads, made Black Sabbath is relieved to a back seat to the massive popularity of his contemporaries Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. But the legacy of Metal Sabbath exerted a powerful teaching on many artists and groups in subsequent decades (Iron Maiden and Judas Priest to a greater extent), while providing features defining what would become heavy metal. Evidence of this are the covers of the latter.

Today, Ozzy Osbourne bought the rights to Black Sabbath.
Black Sabbath formed in Aston, Birmingham, England in 1968 under the name Polka Tulk Blues Band, then "Earth Blues company", and later Earth. Earth

drove in a dark environment with his bassist Geezer Butler, a fan of black magic novels of Dennis Wheatley. Geezer Butler wrote the song Black Sabbath after getting a book hidden in Latin and Butler had a vision of a black figure sitting on the corner of his bed and Ozzy told of his vision. (From VH1 Black Sabbath Documentary) ". About 1969, was found confused with another local band called Earth. After being called to do a concert, met the manager of the wrong Earth. Tony Iommi said "we die there" in his interview with The Last Supper. As a result, they adopted the name of the song for his band.

The group found its subject in an accident. When the group was recording in a studio, located behind a horror movie, Osbourne called Tony Iommi (reference video: Do \u200b\u200bnot Blame Me) told the rest of the band that was weird that people pay to see something that would scare them. Thus, the band began writing dark songs, songs that serve as response to horror films, and in rebellion to the joyful pop of the sixties. In a VH1 documentary about the band, renamed Osbourne lyrics of songs in a radio-friendly pop of the moment, "if you always go to San Francisco, you'll always have a flower in your hair ..." (See: Scott McKenzie) - "makes it" he said, "Put that down and possess people."

A couple with their new sound heavy and antiquated state Osbourne, the band found time to record their first album, Black Sabbath, released in 1969. They recorded with Warner Bros. Records for the U.S. and Canada, and Vertigo Records for the rest of the world. They recorded the album Paranoid in 1970 but always paid attention in America and Great Britain. The song "War Pigs" was written in protest of the Vietnam War and originally planned to put that name to the album. The band recorded "Paranoid" at the last moment only added the disk. The song ended up putting title track and first single was aired on the radio.

Another innovation was the result of an accident. Tony Iommi was injured two fingers on his hand while working at a metal factory. Initially, plastic prosthesis was a bottle of detergent. The injured fingers were unstable and could not play, so changed his guitar Gibson Iommi a standard E to C # (starting with its third album, Master of Reality). The reduced tension of the strings to play helped the injured part of your fingers. Butler changed his tune in to look like Iommi's guitar. The amendments gave more of a darker tone to the music of the band.

Black Sabbath released another album in 1971, Master of Reality. That was the first album in more acoustic show. That was another "look" to the style of Black Sabbath, heavy and dark. They added more variations when launching Black Sabbath, Vol 4 in 1972. Starring the ballad "Changes" (containing only vocal, bass, piano and mellotron) and hard rock tracks like "Supernaut" and "Snowblind" (including strings), Black Sabbath, Vol 4 was the most mature album of the band.
Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne in 1973

1973, the group was popular enough, and the band more appealing on stage. His new album, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, the band was working with the Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman in the sessions. Associated with the name, the album contains a space rock song titled "Spiral Architect" and the prog-rock song titled "A National Acrobat."

By 1974 the band members were reliable drug, especially Osbourne and Ward taking LSD every day for two years. " Change recording house meant an abrupt change in the components of Black Sabbath and the next album the band recorded with Warner Bros. Sabotage was recorded in 1975, a record that consecrate the band with hit singles such as "Hole In The Sky", "I 'm Going Insane "," Megalomania ", being now towards the end of 1976 at the tops of the lists of UK / USA with the single" Symptom of the Universe. " This album, produced by Mike Butcher, besides being a precedent for the generation Thrash of the decade of 80 (allusion made by James Hetfield), achieved a perfect consilia interaction between its components, as for the medieval court of "Megalomania" "The Writ", "The Thrill Of It All" and the epic "Supertzar" anticipated complete the work done by Blackmore / Dio Rainbow Rising. Sabotage also highlights the strong precencia of Tony Iommi in the composition as also in the production, which added EnglishChoirs arrangements, provided by a Mellotron (executed by Gerald Woodruffe), Harp and other effects and technical details without doubt Sabotage was granted a unique atmosphere and are another one of his compositional progress by that time. In parallel, conflicts begin to glimpse into the band, mainly due to the strong addiction to drugs such as Ozzy Osbourne also the eccentricity of this to his companions.

Technical Ecstasy (1976) was the next job, which coincides with that the group had fallen into a certain complacency. The album was recorded with symphony orchestras, quiet songs sung by drummer Bill Ward on "It's Alright" following a request Osbourne during the recording sessions. This album gives the band many and merciless criticism in the season, but also the singles "Dirty Women", "Rock 'n' Roll Doctor" they had had some success in the U.S. charts. After the 1977 tour, Osbourne becomes separated from the band temporarily, and for which there are several songs interpretatdas by singer Dave Walker, formed in Savoy Brown. This album edited and published in 1976 is one of the most inventive and original studio albums Black Sabbath, refuting the impression of lack of creativity in recent years. Walker was part of the recording sessions the band singing long songs with lyrics severe. This version of the Sabbath was released in the song "Junior's Eyes" at the BBC: "Look Here!" (Look here!) In January 1978. Osbourne

reappears in the band and started working on the next album. "Never Say Die" appears in September 1978, which shows the more experimental of the original conformation, the album contained many elements of jazz, synth-pop and blues, but compared to the previous album, was notoriously low quality . The abandonment of Ozzy Osbourne becomes effective after the edition of "Never Say Die", and after the performance in the tenth anniversary of Black Sabbath, recorded on film by the name of "10 Years Anniversary Of .... Black Sabbath," released today on DVD as "Black Sabbath Never Say Die! ".

Osbourne was officially expelled from the band in 1979, commenting in an interview in which he announced (found in the bonus track The Ozzman Cometh) who left the band due to addiction. The fact of the expulsion of some form came to use be waived for Ozzy as encouraged by his wife Sharon (daughter of then-manager Don Arden Black Sabbath) convinces him to move forward as a soloist, his new band would be called Blizzard of Ozz. To do so would convene the guitar, Randy Rhoads ex-Quiet Riot.

Rainbow singer Ronnie James Dio would participate in the next album, Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, was the event that revitalized the band from the 1975 album Sabotage. It was during this tour that Dio popularized the hand gesture cornuta, which became an expression that defines the heavy metal in general. The album also has the inclusion of guitarist and keyboardist of Quartz, music sessions Geoff Nicholls (Nicholls was never an official member of the group, and usually plays in live shows as a guest, but co-wrote many songs and was the reincarnation 2001). Also during the tour, drummer Bill Ward left the band for personal problems (Sus Both parents died within a short time, and Ward fell into alcoholism and other addictions).

drummer Vinny Appice was elected to finish the tour and record the next album Mob Rules, the song which takes its title appeared in the movie Heavy Metal. After the song appeared in the film and its soundtrack is an alternate version that appeared in Mob Rules.

For the break in 1980 with the live album Live at Last (recorded in Osbourne was in tour in 1973 Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath) soon the band recorded a live album during the Mob Rules tour, titled Live Evil. During the mixing of Live Evil, Iommi and Butler accused Dio entering at night to study and increase the volume of voices, for this reason he was expelled. After they decided to remove the band when Dio left.

In the summer of 1997, on the feast of rock Ozzy Osbourne, Ozzfest, the band officially met, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Bulter and Bill Ward returned to play together as Black Sabbath (If it had been some meetings, like with Ozzy Geezer Bulter for solo albums, such as the Ozzmosis album, for example). What seemed like a reunion tour became almost 10 years of touring together. The band not only made records compiled at the time, by returning to the scene, as is the case of "Symptom of the universe: the original Black Sabbath ", but in 1998 they recorded the famous album to be called simply Reunion, which is a double live album, playing his greatest hits, but that aside would have 2 new" Psycho Man "and" Seeling My Soul ", two songs that would mark a return to study of the band. These two songs (like the whole album) were a success, not only trade, but among the fans. But the successful meeting does not end there, almost CONSCIOUS like taking advantage of the meeting, the Hall of Fame Rock, in 2006, along with other bands like Sex Pistols Black Sabbath enters with its original lineup, forcing a new union of metalheads.

In 2006 Ozzy and Bill would separate the band again, after a successful meeting, to work alone. This would mark the return of the band Dio, but would not be so simple. Tony Iommi, after the board of the original lineup and the band's entry into the Hall of Fame Rock, choose not to continue with the name Black Sabbath on tour with Dio, and Ozzy while not participate in the band, drawn well, a few potential legal problems with the singer. The new name for the new band would be Heaven and Hell, which Iommi and Geezer would only original members of Black Sabbath, Dio occupying vowels and Vinny Appice drums and percussion. The name the band is due to the album "Heaven and Hell", which was the first Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio. The band subsequently toured and put out a live album entitled Live from Radio City Music Hall to be composed entirely of songs from the era of Black Sabbath with Dio. Discography
