"The judge has summoned to give sworn judicial confession indecisorio .- I snapped Lucia, the lawyer who brings me all the affairs of the late Frederick.

band Sonata Arctica is a Finnish melodic power metal from the city of Kemi formed in 1996 under the name of Tricky Beans, which later changed to Tricky Means, and finally to Sonata Arctica in 1999.

Sonata Arctica has been influenced by bands like Stratovarius, Helloween, Nightwish, among others cited by the group in interviews.
Beginnings (1996-1998) Sonata Arctica
was founded under the name of Tricky Beans and initially played songs heavily influenced by gender Rock and Roll, which had little to do with his current style, melodic Metal. Early in his career, recorded 2 demos which were never sent to any recording label - Friend 'till The End and Pamppers Agree.
In 1997 the band changed its name to Tricky Means, and from that point until 1999 their style was changing to do so sharply, emphasizing the keyboard melodies and relying on an easily distinguishable rhythm line on the keyboard, guitar and voice. Vocalist Tony Kakko developed a singing style and became regarded as one of the best singers of the style.
Ecliptica (1999-2000)
In 1999, the band recorded a demo called Peacemaker, consisting of Tony Kakko, guitarist Jani Liimatainen, bassist Janne Kivilahti and drummer Tommy Portimo. The demo was sent to the seal Spinefarm and the band changed its name to Sonata Arctica. A recording deal soon after.
Later that same year was released in Finland, the group's first single, entitled Unopened, which caused a huge impact, entering the top 20 sold in its first week after going on sale. Because of this initial success, the band soon had closed deals with labels from around the world, with a view to launching their debut album. The album was called Ecliptica and later released worldwide in late 1999, earning rave reviews from the press. For all this, Tony Kakko decided to concentrate on singing and began to search a new keyboard player for the band: Mikko Harkin (previously Kenziner) was chosen and invited to the post.
In early 2000, Sonata Arctica was chosen to open for the consecrated Stratovarius over their European tour with Rhapsody. Kivilahti Janne left the band and was replaced by Marko Paasikoski, one of the founders of "Tricky Beans."
and Silence Winterheart's Guild (2001-2003)
From late 2000 through 2001, the band worked on writing and recording their next album, Silence, finally released in June 2001. An extensive tour followed, which included concerts throughout Europe (with Gamma Ray) and Japan. In 2002 Sonata Arctica made its first foray into America, performing in Brazil and Chile. According to the statement later by one of the musicians in the band, that was one of their best tour to date - the other being the Japanese tour in 2003 -. In addition, the live album entitled Songs Of Silence was released just after that year.
In late 2002, keyboardist Mikko Harkin left the band for personal reasons. Thus, their third album - Winterheart's Guild - was recorded with the help of famed Jens Johansson, STRATOVARIUS keyboardist, who recorded the keyboard tracks with Tony Kakko. Keyboardist Henrik Klingenberg joined the band just in time to participate in a promotional tour from her new album. In most of the concerts was hung the sign "No ticket."
Reckoning Night and For The Sake Of Revenge (2004-2006)
At the end of his contract with Spinefarm Records, the band received invitations from most European labels, preferring ultimately, by Nuclear Blast. In early 2004, the band was chosen as the opener for the tour in Japan Iron Maiden. In March of that year, Tommy Portimo was father to his wife giving birth to a girl.
Reckoning Night was recorded in three months and released in October. The single and promotional EP for this album was Do not Say A Word, which remained in the Top of the most listened in Finland for 6 weeks. A promotional tour took shape then, but made an unexpected change of plans to receive an invitation from the popular band Nightwish to join them on tour through Europe. The concerts in which participants had an influx of up to ten thousand people.
In April 2006 Launches For The Sake Of Revenge, her second live album, recorded during their tour in Tokyo, Japan. This edition is available on CD or DVD.
For the same year the band participates in the creation of a computer game called Winterheart's Guild. This game, by Zelia Games, is an RPG set in the distant future in which the world has devastated by a severe winter. The game, say its creators, has been created in order to eliminate corruption and have a freer world.
Unia (2007 -)
A new album, entitled Unia, was released on May 25, 2007, his promo single was Paid in full, which was launched a few months earlier.
